Indian or brazilian hair, which is better?

Indian hair and brazilian hair existed in the market long time ago, and their good characteristics are very popular among customers.but still some customers come to ask me which is better between them and ask me how to choose. As a human hair practitioner with many years of experience, let me tell you their differences.

Indian hair

Origin:

  • Typically collected from india.
  • Known for being 100% virgin and unprocessed (if sourced authentically).

Characteristics:

  • Soft and silky: naturally smooth and lightweight, making it easy to manage.
  • Versatile textures: ranges from straight to curly, wavy. Wavy textures are the most common and can blend well with various hair types.
  • Appearance: looks reddish a little bit and has a  slightly thinner strand.
  • Cost: Typically more affordable than Brazilian hair

Durability and styling:

  • Holds curls well but may lose definition faster in humid conditions due to its finer texture.
  • Can be colored, heated, restyled, bleached, but not to very light color.
  • Durable over half a year.

Brazilian hair

Origin:

  • Collected from donors in Brazil and sometimes from other South American countries.
  • Known for its thickness and durability, often labeled as virgin hair.

Characteristics:

  • Thick and full: Known for its dense texture, making it appear voluminous even in small quantities.
  • Medium to coarse density: Has a slightly thicker strand diameter than Indian hair, giving a fuller look.
  • Appearance: Offers a more natural, understated finish compared to Indian hair.
  • Cost: Usually more expensive than Indian hair

 Durability and Styling:

  • Extremely durable and holds curls for a longer time, even in humid conditions.
  • Can be colored, heated, restyled, bleached
  • Durable over a year.

Key Differences

Texture Soft, silky, lightweight Thicker, fuller, voluminous
Density Fine to medium Medium to coarse
Shine High gloss Natural to low shine
Styling Holds curls moderately Holds curls exceptionally well
Durability Durable but finer Extremely durable
Blends best with Finer hair types Medium to coarse hair types

 Which is better?

  • Choose Indian hair if you want lightweight, silky, and flowy hair that blends well with finer natural hair and looks polished.
  • Choose Brazilian hair if you prefer thick, full, and durable hair that holds styling well and adds volume.
  •

So both Indian and Brazilian hair are excellent choices. Your decision should be based on your styling goals, natural hair type, and the look you want to achieve.
